Flights from Georgia to Chisinau

Flights from Chisinau to Tbilisi: direct with FlyOne

FlyOne flies non-stop from Chisinau to Tbilisi several times a week on the current schedule. Tickets start from €86. Georgia is on UTC+4, so until the end of October it is one hour ahead of Chisinau, and two hours ahead in winter. An evening departure on Moldovan time often means arriving late in the evening or at night in Tbilisi, which matters when choosing your transfer.

Do you need a visa for Georgia, and which passport?

Moldova is on the list of countries whose citizens can enter Georgia without a visa and stay for up to one full year. You need a passport for the trip.

Getting from Tbilisi airport to the centre

Shota Rustaveli Airport is about 17 km south-east of the city, and the drive takes 20-35 minutes depending on traffic.

Money and costs in Tbilisi

The currency is the Georgian lari. Cards work almost everywhere in Tbilisi, but you will need cash for trips out of town. Changing all your money at the airport is not a good idea, as the rate in town is better.

What to bring back from Tbilisi to Moldova

Almost everyone brings back Georgian wine, but remember the allowance: flying into Moldova, you can bring 2 litres of drinks up to 22% or 1 litre of spirits, such as chacha, duty-free. Anything above the limit has to be declared.

The rest is simpler and lighter: churchkhela, khmeli-suneli and utskho-suneli spice blends, Svan salt and tkemali plum sauce. A convenient place to buy them is the Dezerter Bazaar near the railway station. For Soviet badges, old cameras and paintings by local artists, head to the Dry Bridge flea market in the city centre.

Which dates to fly to Tbilisi

Tbilisoba, the city's main festival, takes place on the first weekend of October. In 2026 it was held on 3-4 October at five venues, including Rike Park and Orbeliani Square. The festival traditionally coincides with rtveli, the grape harvest in Kakheti, and young wine appears at the fairs. Spring offers an equally good reason: on the second weekend of May, Tbilisi hosts the New Wine Festival.

Accommodation in the centre gets more expensive during Tbilisoba, so book it together with your Chisinau to Tbilisi flights.
