Chisinau to Batumi: FlyOne's new seasonal flight

FlyOne launched the direct flight from Chisinau to Batumi on 28 June 2026. The first plane brought 182 passengers to Batumi, and in summer the route operated two or three times a week. It is a seasonal route designed for the Black Sea beach season. Tickets start from €86, and you can see which dates are on sale in the calendar on this page. Outside the season, travellers reach Batumi via Tbilisi, which has direct flights from Chisinau.

Visa and documents

No visa is needed. Moldovan citizens can stay in Georgia for up to one year without a visa and show their passport on entry.

From Batumi airport to the sea in 20 minutes

Alexander Kartveli Airport is about 5-6 km south of the centre, right next to the Turkish border.

Airport taxi drivers do not use meters, so agree on the price before getting in, or simply call a Bolt, where the fare is fixed in the app. Exchange rates at the airport are worse than in town, so only change enough for the journey there.

The currency is the lari. Café food in Batumi is priced similarly to Tbilisi, while dinner for two here usually comes out slightly cheaper.

Batumi's markets and what to buy

For shopping, the covered Hopa central market is convenient: spices, adjika, cheese, tea, dried fruit and churchkhela. In Adjara it is made with hazelnuts as well as walnuts. Look for soft, fresh churchkhela at the market rather than in souvenir shops. At the fish market you can buy the catch of the day and have it cooked right away at one of the small restaurants next door.

Homemade Adjarian chacha is sold at the market, but remember the allowance: flying into Moldova, you can bring 1 litre of drinks over 22% or 2 litres of weaker drinks duty-free, plus other goods worth €430 per person.
