According to the latest report by ACI EUROPE, passenger traffic at European airports increased by an average of 4.5% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. However, the Republic of Moldova stood out with an impressive +49.2% growth — the highest in Europe.

At the center of this success is the “Eugen Doga” International Airport in Chișinău, which played a key role in driving this remarkable development. The airport’s growth rate surpassed even major aviation markets such as Italy (+5.7%), Spain (+4.5%), and France (+3.6%).

This performance is attributed to several strategic factors:

Expansion of the network of direct flights to European destinations;

Increased passenger demand for fast and affordable connections;

Strengthened role of the airport as a regional hub and Moldova’s primary air gateway.

Thus, the “Eugen Doga” Airport not only connects Moldova with Europe but also actively contributes to the positive trends in European aviation, positioning itself as a key player in the continent's air traffic landscape.
